In November 1869, Khedive Ismail ,the ruler of Egypt, prepared a great festival for the opening of Suez Canal . On this occasion, he established a group of palaces among them a palace on El Guizera of the western bank of Cairo Nile ( El Zamalek) and called it El Guizera Hotel,and in the middle of 70's Tour Hotel Company decided to remove the chalets around the palace and construct three towers (Northen,Southern,Orbital) .the inauguration was in 1982 under the name Marriott Omar Khayyam Hotel.
